She has served on the Board of Women in Real Estate (WIRE Kenya), where she advocated for the inclusion of women in the built environment and explored solutions to the challenges faced by women and girls in African cities.

Beyond her professional and academic work, Rehema has been a classical violinist for more than 15 years and performs with the Nairobi Orchestra in Kenya where she uses music as a medium for expression of structure and creativity.

The strength of Africa’s cities lies in the people. When research, creativity, innovation, and culture guide us, and when we truly own our spaces, we can shape lasting climate solutions.
