Collaborative Labeling and Appliance Standards Program (CLASP)
Collaborative Labeling and Appliance Standards Program (CLASP)
CLASP’s mission is to improve the energy and environmental performance of the appliances and equipment we use every day, accelerating our transition to a more sustainable world. It envisions a world in which appliances and equipment are life-changing, low-impact, and environmentally responsible.
CLASP serves at the epicenter of collaborative, ambitious efforts to mitigate climate change and expand access to clean energy, through appliance energy performance and quality. It offers four types of services, namely
- Energy & Quality Standards
- Labeling & Buyer Education
- Awards & Product Recognition
- Compliance, Testing, & Quality Assurance
Appliances play a central role in how we live and work. Making appliances and equipment more energy efficient is one of the fastest, most cost-effective ways to curb catastrophic climate change and a key step in decarbonizing the energy supply. It also provides better value for consumers, reduces inequitable energy cost burdens on lower-income households, and helps manage rising energy demand. CLASP works globally with governments, industry, and other stakeholders to advance data-driven solutions that address the climate crisis.
