Amir Syarfudin’s 15 years working experience and education combine his passion for sustainable food systems and community viability through civil society engagement. He has a Master’s Degree-Food Technology and Human Nutrition and graduated from Bogor Institute of Agriculture.
Amir collaborates with Academia, government agencies, NGOs, private sectors, and practitioners across Indonesia, Myanmar, Lao PDR, Timor Leste, and other ASEAN Members to provide intellectual leadership, strategic vision and managerials. He hands-on work experience Project Manager in NGO in Food, fishery, coffee, agriculture, trade facilitation, health, and nutrition sectors in Indonesia (Food and Non-Food Area), East Timor, Myanmar, and Lao to help organizations, Government and people growth by providing them knowledge throughout improving capacity by giving training and technical assistant to improve their capacity.
He also experiences of the sustainable transformation of agri food systems, agri-food production and improvements in food safety at the country and region to make better harmonized, promoting the sustainability of ASEAN food products in export markets international standards, to reduce barriers for trade in food products.
Policy reform, and collaboration between governments, organizations, industry and
the private sector are key to delivering long term change.
