Monash University joins the GBPN
Global Buildings Performance Network (GBPN) has initiated a partnership with Monash University, one of Australia’s leading universities, based in Melbourne, to support the implementation of GBPN’s strategic programs in S.E. Asia.
Monash will host GBPN program staff for the Asia-Pacific Region in the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture (MADA). In line with this, GBPN has just appointed two key positions – Program Manager for India and South East Asia, and a Global Knowledge Manager.
Through this strategic collaboration with Monash University, GBPN will strengthen its global network of experts and provide technical assistance, knowledge services and advanced education to buildings sector climate policy-makers.
Monash university is also investing US$500k in the collaboration with GBPN to increase the ambition, adoption and effective implementation of building energy codes and complementary policies in high mitigation potential markets in India and South East Asia.
‘’We’re delighted to work with Monash to decarbonise the building sector. This partnership will bring together the best experts from the region and globally, foster knowledge sharing and provide support to jurisdictions to adopt more ambitious sustainable buildings policies and energy codes,” says Peter Graham, Executive Director of GBPN.
