WORKING TOGETHER FOR GREATER IMPACT

The way we build has to change but progress is slowed when people aren’t working towards the same goal.

GBPN forms powerful local coalitions that work to identify common goals and develop a plan that stakeholders own. This is the key to achieving greater ambition and delivering speed and scale.

ENGAGING LOCAL EXPERTS

GBPN has a unique model for engaging local experts in policy reform. We take a collaborative approach and work in a bottom- up way to engage local experts. Two successful examples of this approach are HIDUP in Indonesia and JINDA in India (meaning “Alive” in Bahasa Indonesia and Hindi respectively).

The coalitions provide opportunities for local experts who know the region, issues and policy landscape to directly support the development and implementation of local sustainable building policy.

WORKING WITH GOVERNMENT

Indonesia is rolling out an innovative new approach to government collaboration developed by GBPN. Known as the Policy Hub, it is intended to provide a forum for supporting different government ministries and levels of government (national and regional) to come together with local experts and other key stakeholders.

A key benefit of the Policy Hub is that it enables more systematic engagement between different areas of government to assist in aligning their policies and initiatives, as well as input from independent experts
