Dr. Purushottam is a Fellow of the Royal Met Society, London, and Certified GHG emissions quantifier. She has over 25 years of sustainability strategy and environmental consultancy experience in the areas of environmental impact assessment; air pollution modelling and meteorology; GHG emissions inventory and carbon offsets; carbon neutrality strategy; waste management strategy; and water risk, technology solutions for sustainability and CSR. She is a physics postgraduate with Phd in environmental science and engineering from IIT Bombay.
Sunita has worked with regulatory bodies in the UK and India and is well versed with reporting/disclosure frameworks such as SASB, GRI, CDP and GRESB and Integrated Reporting; as well as ESG risks and enterprise risk management. Sunita has executed over fifty engagements in sustainable business strategy, sustainable development and corporate social responsibility across the UK, United States, Mexico, South Africa and India. She has a deep understanding of Climate Change Science and adaptation.
She is currently heading Sustainability at Mahindra Lifespace Developers Limited. She has served in Infosys, SENES Consultants and Casella Stanger; and as founding member of a startup in the area of Sustainability Tech Solutions. She has authored many white papers on Sustainability and is a speaker in national and international forums.
Sunita Purushottam was appointed as Board Member of the Global Buildings Performance Network (GBPN) in October 2021 and appointed President of the Association and Chair of the Board in June 2023.
As Managing Director of Green Business Certification Institute Pvt Ltd, India and Senior Vice President, USGBC, Mili is responsible for technical adaptation and customization of the portfolio of rating systems of GBCI for the Asia Pacific region. An architecture graduate and a building technologies specialist, Mili has more than two decades of experience in the field of energy, green buildings, climate resilient housing, city planning, urban transportation and environment with a focus on sustainable development of habitats.
She is member of Committee for formulation of energy conservation building codes for India, Member of Committee of Bureau of Indian Standards for revision and updating of National Building Code of India. She is Advisor to Delhi Urban Arts Commission and Glass Academy of Saint Gobain. She is Founder member of the Indian Building Performance Simulation Association. She was Member of Expert Appraisal Committee (Infra-2) constituted for appraisal of infrastructure projects by Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (Government of India). She was Member of the Assurance Group of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development Energy Efficiency in Buildings Project.

At the forefront of International Green Building movement for more than 13 years, Jane lead the World Green Building Council from 2010-2015 as doubled its size. Jane has advised governments on Green Building policies, participated in a number of UNFCCC COPs, as well as advised on UN 10YFP program development. She was a director of the United Nations Sustainable Building Climate Initiative (UNEP-SBCI) and acted as Chairperson of the popular ‘Business Case for Green Building (2013). Jane is valued for her business and finance perspective gained through her MBA at MIT’s Sloan School of Business and time with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank Group.
Jane Henley joined as a Board Member in 2019 and was appointed as Chair, Treasurer and President of the Board of the Global Buildings Performance Network (GBPN) in June 2020. In June 2023, she stepped down as President and Chair but continues to serve as a member of the Board and Treasurer .
Dan is a recognized leader in the curation of strategic and innovative collaborations around climate and sustainable growth. He currently manages the International Finance Corporation (IFC)’s wide array of partnerships with governments and foundations in the Asia Pacific region. This includes more than 60 collaborations with governments, foundations, and companies to catalyze innovative and scalable private sector solutions to address key challenges facing people in the region such as climate change, gender inequity, financial inclusion, access to infrastructure services, food and nutrition, health and education.
Dan has over 20 years of experience as an economist in international and private sector development, working in various leadership positions in the World Bank Group, the UK government, and academia. At IFC, he has led strategy and advisory work on sustainable business, access to finance, and green buildings. Prior to joining IFC, he managed a Public Private Partnerships ‘value for money’ team in the U.K. government, focusing on the transport and health sectors, and early on in his career he led research on transformational leadership and leadership psychology.
He has a Masters in Economics from the London School of Economics, a Masters in Political Science from the University of South Carolina, and a First Class degree in Economics, Politics, and North American studies from the University of Leeds. He is the author of over 20 publications.

Hitesh Vaidya

With an extensive background spanning over 25 years, Hitesh Vaidya has showcased expertise in guiding urban strategy, governance, development, policy formulation, project implementation, infrastructure and program management, and poverty alleviation efforts.
He recently held the position of Director at the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA), a significant urban think tank within the Government of India, leading a team of 200 professionals. His expertise and partnership approach have played a vital role in shaping and rolling out India’s flagship national urban missions, leaving a lasting mark on the country’s urban development landscape.
During India’s G20 presidency, he assumed a crucial role in coordinating the Urban 20 group, showcasing significant influence and extensive knowledge on the global stage. His substantial contributions to the urban discourse in India have greatly enriched urban dynamics and significantly contributed to urban policy dialogues in the country. His leadership and collaboration with prestigious organisations such as the UN, World Bank, and USAID have driven impactful initiatives.
His exceptional interpersonal skills and adeptness in navigating challenging situations have been crucial in mobilising the team’s collective talents and strengths, effectively complementing his capabilities.

Dr. Peter Graham has 20 years experience in international advocacy, research and education in sustainable building design, construction, evaluation and policy. His career in sustainable building spans all levels of the industry, from the construction site to university, and from boardrooms to international negotiations. He is the Executive Director of the Global Buildings Performance Network and an Associate Professor in Architecture at Monash University, Australia.
Previously he has been the Technical Advisor and past Coordinator of the United Nations Environment Programme’s (UNEP) Sustainable Buildings and Climate Initiative where he developed and managed many of UNEP’s key research projects and publications in the building sector.
Peter’s previous roles include Deputy Director of the Centre for Urban Transitions, and Node leader for the CRC for Low Carbon Living at Swinburne University of Technology, Head of Discipline for Architecture & Design and Stream-Leader in the Architecture Program at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia.
Peter was a contributing author to the IPCC AR5 Working Group 3 Buildings Chapter, the Global Energy Assessment, UNEP Emissions Gap Report, Global Status Report on Buildings & Construction, and contributor to drafting the UN Sustainable Development Goals. He also led the content development, organizational strategy and implementation planning for the Paris COP21 Buildings Day and Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction.
Peter holds a Bachelor Degree in Construction Management, a Masters Degree in Applied Science and a PhD in Architecture. He has been the Executive Director of Global Buildings Performance Network since 2011.

Co-director of the Building Energy Efficiency Hub at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and GBPN Board Adviser
Trained as a building scientist, Dr. Lee works in the areas of building energy performance and acoustics at the Department of Building, National University of Singapore (NUS). He is co-director of the Building Energy Efficiency Hub at NUS—a strategic initiative at the University aiming at reducing energy consumption on campus. The BEE Hub focuses on energy dashboard development, occupancy modelling, building systems’ efficiency and well and green in the built environment.
As consultant, Dr. Lee and his team have participated in projects such as the National Library Building, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and the Zero Energy Building @ BCA Academy. They are all multiple awards winning projects. Dr. Lee is active in the South East Asia region. He was the chair of the board of judges for ASEAN Energy Efficient Building Awards, and was awarded the ASEAN Ministers’ Meeting Award for Excellence in Energy Management.
