Building Sector Actions – The Unprecedented Opportunity for Climate Change Commitments
GBPN in collaboration with GlobalABC and Monash University, Australia presented a panel event at COP27 Buildings Pavilion on November 11, at Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. The panel event featured building policy and energy experts from Egypt, Morocco, India and Australia.
The panel discussed the importance of building sector actions in NDCs, including:
- The need for consistency in how countries make building commitments.
- How countries were taking strong action on building commitments to mitigate climate change.
- The role of the private sector as a major change contributor to the decarbonisation of the supply chain.
Dr Peter Graham, Executive Director, GBPN presented the 11 criteria developed in collaboration with Monash University, that will support countries in including strong building sector actions in their NDCs.
