Jane Henley appointed President of GBPN

Sustainable Building Leader, Jane Henley, named New President of Global Building Performance Network (GBPN)

The GBPN has appointed Jane Henley as President of the Board of Directors. She replaces William Sisson who led GBPN since 2018. Jane Henley takes up the position with immediate effect and will support the ongoing transformation of the organization as it seeks to accelerate the adoption of more robust decarbonisation policies.

“I am very pleased that Jane will be our new Chair and President. Jane’s experience in growing international green building organisations will be essential during this new phase of GBPN development. I look forward to working with Jane to develop new and innovative initiatives to decarbonize the buildings and construction sector,” says Peter Graham, Executive Director of GBPN.

Jane Henley led the World Green Building Council from 2010-2015 as it doubled its size. Jane has advised governments on Green Building policies, participated in a number of UNFCCC COPs, as well as advised on UN 10YFP program development. She was a director of the United Nations Sustainable Building Climate Initiative (UNEP-SBCI), and recently served as Global Operations Manager at the International Finance Corporation part of the World Bank Group.

“GBPN is pivoting from being a pure think tank, to taking this knowledge and applying it in the highest impact, most challenging situations in the world. We are designing an enabling platform that fills that gaps many of us have seen, but have not been able to act on. We will work locally and build from the bottom up. We will showcase our partners and their wins. It’s exciting to be innovating with our partners, in how we deliver impact, on topics that never make headlines, yet create the foundations of our societies,” says Jane Henley.

GBPN’s new strategy aims to directly support adoption and implementation of building energy codes across South East Asia with a focus on expanding the coverage of residential energy codes in Indonesia and India, and also develop capability of policy makers to implement them.
