[Event] GBPN goes to COP19 in Warsaw

GBPN team is heading to Warsaw to participate in United Nations Climate Change COP19 conference which opened on 11th November in the unfortunate shade of Philippines’ super typhoon Haiyan giving the climate change even more a sense of urgency.
This Friday, 15 November, Peter Graham, GBPN’s Executive Director will participate in a high-level dialogue between NGOs and Heads of China Delegation at China Civil Climate Action Network (CCAN) side event at the Chinese Pavilion. Peter will also meet Mr Huang Haoming, Director of China Association for NGO Cooperation (CANGO) and the officials from Climate Change Department of National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) to discuss the possibilities of collaboration with GBPN in China.
The GBPN Chinese programme aims at facilitating international exchange of knowledge and expertise on best-practice policies for low energy and energy efficient buildings in China. GBPN is actively working on expanding its partner network in China.
On November 17, Peter Graham will be moderating a workshop on ‘Building Sustainable Cities’ at the Fourth Annual World Climate Summit. The intention of the summit is to provide a permanent business platform for debate and action during the COP19 in Warsaw. The workshop will explore the key challenges facing the sustainable renovation and transformation of urban development, namely the best practices in development of buildings, transportation, water, waste management and energy sectors. The panelists from various industries will suggest solutions and key policy recommendations to green the cities and help them meet their targets globally.
Niamh McDonald and Sophie Shnapp, GBPN’s Research Associates will join Peter in Warsaw on Monday to attend a range of events linked to Sustainable cities and Building energy efficiency.
