THE NETWORK THEORY OF CHANGE

A Theory of Change articulates an organisation’s vision for impact into a clear framework that will deliver specific, desired change. Our Network Theory of Change zooms into the role the GBPN Network plays in delivering our organisational Theory of Change. 

The movement to decarbonise buildings is here but remains largely invisible, technical, and uncoordinated. The GBPN Network has been established as the facilitator and convenor to drive an imminent breakthrough moment.

Inputs

Our network is composed of trusted changemakers whose expertise and voices have been pioneering transformative change in policy reform and market transformation in the pursuit of decarbonising the buildings sector. We work with local partners and solutions centres to grow and strengthen capacity at the local level. We network this brain trust with philanthropists who we have built trust with to create a strategy that aggregates impact. 

Change Levers

We form local expert teams that provide critical on-the-ground insights and expertise, ensuring that project outcomes are both contextually relevant and effectively implemented. We embed these learnings into local institutions to enhance local capacities and empower local stakeholders with the skills and tools to drive future initiatives. We connect local solutions centres to enable international knowledge exchange to enable replication across diverse contexts. 

Intermediate Outcomes 

Intermediate outcomes are crucial in our pursuit of zero-emissions buildings and in combating climate change. Real-time knowledge exchange across sectors and levels of governance accelerates progress towards zero emissions targets. Sharing innovative policy solutions accelerates zero-emissions policy implementation. Increased cross-sector collaboration allows comprehensive solutions development. 

Breakthrough Outcomes

The breakthrough outcomes are the effects of our process of change. For us, this is the network effect in action. The siloed approach to working is in the past. We are no longer re-inventing the wheel. Changemakers are networked and empowered to implement coordinated strategy from the ground up at speed and scale.
